Protests against the Cleveland Board of Education break out when new construction of three schools will perpetuate segregation; Rev. Bruce Klunder is killed when backed over by bulldozer at one construction site.
 
 
 

President Lyndon Johnson pressures Congress for the Civil Rights Act; banning discrimination based on race, sex, national origin, or religion in public accommodations, education and employment.
